On a night like tonight, you can gather with friends and light candles all around a labyrinth. You can decorate the stones with chalk and petals and leaves. You can quietly stroll through the path while listening to the children play and the squirrels drop nuts in the woods. You can sit at the labyrinth's edge with the woods surrounding it and you and imagine all the life that could be possibly moving out in the growing dark. You can giggle with all of the friends that have gathered about possible yetis in the woods...or snakes...or foxes. And as you sit or walk, and the gorgeousness of the path and the candles and the artwork grows more mysterious and more deeply beautiful as the night falls, you may realize how lucky you are.
When visiting a labyrinth like this you just may realize how happy life is when you choose to let in beauty and magic and curiosity...when you surround yourself with friends that embody so heartily all of those things as well. Walking the path and counting the candles...and then later blowing them out one by one. It can be like counting your many many blessings in a creative life.
Do what you love. Gravitate toward what makes your heart soar. Otherwise...it is a wasted life.
